For way to long I worked shift work of 50hrs PLUS per week, in a highly stressful job.

Looking after customers and colleagues better than i looked after myself. This lead to adverse affects on my gut, my nervous sytem, adrenal glands, mental health and so much more- not that I knew it back then.

Over many years, I had countless trips to the doctor's office, many tests, and a growing list of prescriptions – all culminating in a bewildering diagnosis of "IBS." I even found myself being prescribed anxiety medications at one point! Little did I know that the gut houses its own intricate nervous system, communicating with the brain through the Vagus nerve. When your gut is upset, it can send distress signals that mimic anxiety symptoms. When we are stressed, it can also cause vitamin & mineral deficiencies, something i see in so many clients now.

Inside our gut resides trillions of bacteria, and when this balance is disrupted, it triggers a cascade of health issues – from unwelcome bacteria and pesky parasites to weight fluctuations, digestive issues, abdominal pain, mood swings, hormonal imbalances, and weakened immunity. The imbalance can also zap your energy, lead to skin problems, and manifest as an overall lack of zest for life.

When I finally sought a nutritional therapist and learned about my digestion and the foods that were making me feel so much worse. She educated me on not only transforming my diet but also my lifestyle – including the importance of quality sleep and stress management.

The difference I felt was immediate. No longer did I dread heading to work, feeling constricted in my skirt, battling bloating, and wrestling with fatigue by lunchtime. No more excruciating drives home with my skirt discreetly unzipped to alleviate the pressure, all while battling the anxiety of needing a restroom urgently.

Further stool testing, I discovered i had a parasite, one that likes to come out in force when your stressed! I learned to rebalance my gut through nutritional therapy, I experienced a newfound lease on life. I shed the excess weight that had been holding me back and cut out all medications.

My fascination with how looking inside the gut and its supporting organs could make me so good, it led me to embark on a journey to become a qualified nutrition and wellness coach, leaving behind my previous career. While coaching and supporting others on their own gut health journeys, I continued my studies, delving into nutritional science and therapeutics through IINH.ie.

In 2020, I proudly graduated with a distinction in clinical practice, and today, I am a registered member of NTOI, the professional association supporting qualified Nutritional Therapists of Ireland.

Now, I have the privilege of delving into the depths of others' gut issues, helping them bid farewell to health problems such as constipation, bloating, heartburn, joint pain, and general tummy troubles. Through my work and the knowledge I share, my clients not only shed unwanted pounds but also gain more energy, enjoy better sleep, and leave our time together with a renewed sense of vitality.

These days, I listen to my body, equipped with the tools and knowledge I've acquired. When I have 'off' days, I swiftly restore myself to a state of well-being, ensuring that I'm always at my best.
